We pride ourselves on stocking the best dresses from the best designers in the business here at Maria Modes and one of our favourite and most popular collections is Maggie Sottero.
We’re proud to have an extensive range of Maggie Sottero dresses in our showroom and today we’re going to be delving a little deeper into the brand to let you in on everything you could possibly need to know about the brand, the designer and of course, the dresses.
The Maggie Sottero bridal brand is a collection of three wedding dress ranges, all designed to serve a different purpose in the industry.
The original Maggie Sottero collection is the brand’s core range of timeless and chic gowns for every bride, however also under the same brand are Sottero, Midgley and Rebecca Ingram.
The main Maggie Sottero range has been built up and developed over many years and is inspired by generations of fashion to incorporate gowns that will suit every bride’s style.
The Maggie Sottero brand we know today was started by Lesley Margaret Webster after being inspired by five generations of her family who had worked to innovate the bridal industry.
Lesley ‘Maggie’ Webster formed the brand in honour of her great-grandmother and launched the original Maggie Sottero collection in 1997, followed by Sottero and Midgley in 2006 and Rebecca Ingram in 2016.
The collection has evolved greatly over the last 20-years but the key features of the gowns are still true to the designs of their earlier dresses and gowns that were created by the earliest generations of this brand, keeping family at the heart of Maggie Sottero.
Every collection under the brand’s umbrella has a different feel to it but the Maggie Sottero collection is all about connecting with the ‘romantic and ethereal brides with a classic vision for their wedding’.
Maggie Sottero caters for every shape and style, ensuring every bride can wear their dream dress down the aisle. From traditional princess dresses to mermaid fits, A-line shapes and straight silhouettes, there truly is a gown for every ‘bride to be’ in the Maggie Sottero collection.
All exuding a sense of traditionalism with a hint of modern glamour, the design features within the range include lots of lace, intricate beading and a sophisticated use of diamantes. The majority of the gowns in the collection are available in classic colours such as ivory and white but subtle colourful accents are available in a selection of the dresses such as ivory laid over gold, hints of silver and washes of blush pink.
It is clear to see through the varying designs in the collection that this range of bridal gowns has been influenced by various time eras throughout the generations of designers. Some of the gowns have an authentic vintage feel, inspired by the early 1900’s where others have the most modern of styles, influenced by current trends.
New Additions to the Range
As a bridal boutique, we get excited to see how the collection changes as younger generations of the family take the reins and some of the newest additions to the range showcase a more modern and innovative style while still remaining true to the brand’s core vision.
The Veda dress has one of the most sultry styles of all the gowns available in the current Maggie Sottero collection. A dramatic mermaid shape with fitted bodice and eye-catching ruffled flared skirt, the lace overlay detailing and illusion plunge neckline all come together to create a truly classic feminine silhouette and showcase the very best the female frame has to offer.
The Maggie Sottero Veda dress is available in Ivory and Ivory over Pearl and comes in UK sizes 0-28.
A unique and intricately embellished gown, the Nalani dress is an individual addition to the collection. A classic princess style dress with fitted bodice and voluminous skirt which accentuates at the waist, the star of the show when it comes to the Maggie Sottero Nalani gown is the textured floral detailing across the bodice, leading onto the upper part of the skirt.
This 3D and pale coloured embellishment is truly eye-catching and unlike any other design available in the collection. The Nalani dress by Maggie Sottero is available in Ivory and Ivory with Blush Accents and comes in UK sizes 0-28.
Understated and effortlessly chic, the Maggie Sottero Emma dress is a classically stunning gown for the bride who wants to show off her shape. A soft and subtle fit and flare shape, the strapless sweetheart neckline is the start of a fitted bodice that naturally graduates into a flared skirt with embellished train.
The details of the Emma gown include lace appliques and a scalloped hem, perfect for the bride who wants a romantic and modest aesthetic on her wedding day. The Emma dress from Maggie Sottero comes in Light Gold, Ivory and White and is available in UK sizes 0-28.
The story behind how the Maggie Sottero brand came to be is truly inspiring and unique, just like the designs within the collection and we’re proud to be official stockists of their breath-taking dresses.
