OWNER
Emma runs Maria Modes with an infectious enthusiasm and hands-on approach. She never stops trying to improve every aspect of what we do; researching new designers, new trends, and ways to make your experience in store even better. She always goes the extra mile for all our brides and grooms; she’s not one to admit defeat! She never switches off, she just wants Maria Modes to give brides the very best bridal buying experience possible from the moment you make contact with us to the day you get married.
SENIOR STYLIST & HEAD OF ALTERATIONS
As our longest-standing team member, Sandra’s wealth of knowledge and calming persona always puts brides at ease that they’re in safe hands with her. Nothing is ever too much trouble and if you’re having a crisis of confidence she’s the best at helping you through which is why she’s the perfect choice to head up our Alterations Department. Those crucial last few weeks before the big day is when you need a friendly face the most! You’ll also find her helping Mums in Cheshire Occasionwear as she’s the trendiest Grandma we know!
STYLIST
With a background in wedding planning, in France no less, trust us when we say Georgia knows about attention to detail. She joined the team in 2024 and is already proving to have that special something needed to help you find your perfect dress. She’s a natural at putting you at ease and walking you through the wonderful world of bridal!
STYLIST
Olivia joined the team in 2024 leaving behind her styling career for TV shows and adverts. This means she has an eye for what looks good, whilst also hitting the brief. So if you have a really specific look in mind which you don’t know how to bring to life, she’s your girl. If that wasn’t enough of a bonus, Olivia also got engaged last year so she’s living in her bridal era right there with you, how cool is that?!
SENIOR STYLIST & HEAD OF BRIDAL
Laura has a wealth of industry knowledge as a bridal make-up artist and this transfers excellently into her work here at Maria Modes. So much so she now heads up the Bridal department ensuring all our brides have the very best Maria Modes welcome. And if you’re a fashion forward bride, Laura is the stylist for you, she absolutely loves pushing the envelope and creating the perfect modern day bridal look.
SENIOR STYLIST & HEAD OF MENSWEAR
From Saturday girl to head of the Menswear department. Jade has worked at Maria Modes since the age of 16 so knows the place inside and out. Her youthful and positive attitude rubs off on everyone and you just can’t help but get along with her. She may be young but don’t let that fool you, she knows our dresses inside and out, mainly because she’s modelled most of them so can pull out that perfect wild card dress you would never have chosen yourself.

We know how daunting the world of wedding dresses can be. You’ll be in safe hands with our fantastic team of experts, and we are of course here to answer all your questions. But before we get to meet you, here are some of our most commonly asked questions. We can’t wait to welcome you!

We do not have any private parking but there are lots of parking options nearby, most of which are pay and display.
A full list of our regular opening hours can be found at the bottom of this page. These do sometimes vary on Bank Holidays and for special occasions so please check our socials for any notices of unusual closures. When are you open question is duplicated please delete.
A sample dress is just one that has been tried on in the boutique but never worn or altered so its no different to buying clothes in a retail store that have been tried on by someone else. It is an ‘off the peg’ dress that we only have one of. Once it’s gone it’s gone.
The beauty of our ready to wear dresses are that they are here in store ready to take away the same day! So you could be getting married in as little as a week and that wouldn’t stop you from finding the dress of your dreams!
A small selection of our dresses can still be ordered new for full price as long as they haven’t been discontinued. Please get in touch with us before booking if you are not looking to buy a sample and we can advise you as you may prefer to have a bridal appointment on the ground floor with Maria Modes Bridal.
The short answer is yes, but we have a very easy to use online booking system or you can always just pick up the phone and call us! We are almost always fully booked on weekends and evening so we’d hate for you to make the journey and then be disappointed to find we can’t fit you in, but our door is always open if you just want to come down for a nosey first. If you’re looking for a last minute appointment then the best thing to do is call us and we’ll do our very best to fit you in.
Our ready to wear dresses are all ex-sample designer wedding dresses and are priced between £100 and £2,500 saving you anywhere from 50% to 90% off the usual RRP!
We currently stock samples ranging from a UK8 to 28. These can be altered by a seamstress and can usually go up/down by a size or two. As our sample collection constantly varies with dresses selling fast, the sizes that we stock will vary over time. Bridal sizes tend to be on the small side so don’t be put off if you have to go up a size or 2 compared to what you would normally wear.
We may be biased, but dress shopping is certainly the most fun aspect of wedding planning. So it comes as no surprise you may be tempted to bring everyone along! In our experience, more is not always merrier! The more people you bring, the more opinions you’ll hear and the slower your appointment will run. You’ll want to bring guests who understand your true style, give supportive feedback, and will help you look your best. Hearing too many opinions can be overwhelming for even the most confident of brides. Also note that Ready To Wear is up two flights of stairs with no lift.
While we are a family-friendly store, we host multiple appointments at a time, and although you’ll have your individual appointment space, children can be a distraction. In our experience, children also get bored quickly, seeing wedding dress after wedding dress. As such, we would encourage you to leave the kids at home and let yourself focus on your dress hunt. If you need to bring children to your appointment, we do ask they are given a separate form of entertainment and remain seated and quiet during the appointment.
Nothing but an open mind! We have everything you will need here already. We have shoes, accessories, hair clips, everything. We ask that you don’t wear too much fake tan as it can rub off on the dresses and its an idea to wear plain / nude underwear so it doesn’t show through on some of the dresses but that’s about it!
Like most bridal boutiques our dresses are priced without alterations included. This is because the amount of alteration each bride needs can vary greatly, so why pay for something you might not need! We typically tell our brides to budget anywhere from £100 to £400 for their alterations – although this can vary greatly depending upon your specific gown, how it fits, and whether you plan to customise it.
Our stylists are dedicated to finding the dress that will make you look and feel your absolute best. If you have already have some ideas about your dream dress, please include them in your booking questionnaire and list any dresses which catch your eye. Or if you’re coming in blind and have no idea what you want yet, we can work with that, too, in fact, we love a blank canvas! Our experienced stylists will make the search as fun and easy as possible; we love finding you exactly what you’re looking for, even if you don’t know what that is yet.
